This is our latest promotional video to showcase our work. As i’ve explained in the past, most of our work comes from young girls turning fifteen. “Quinceñeras” as they’re referred to here. It’s quite a big deal here and i think most of latin america. Parents spend big time on the dress and the fiesta and photos and the video. I’d even go as far as to liken the importance that is given to it to a wedding.  Typically we’ll make a video like this one of the girl a few weeks before the actual fiesta (party-reception) and it is then projected on a huge screen on the night.

Fun Links

March 12, 2007

I discovered a new Firefox add-on the other day, it’s called “stumbleupon”. It’s a button that get’s added on to your firefox browser. When  you click on the ’stumbleupon’ button you randomly get taken to different web pages based on your specific interests. (e.g. photography, web design, religion etc.) It’s a really fun tool for when your bored and feel like checking out some cool sites but don’t know where to look.

Here’s the Download page to add it on to your web browser.

Now here’s a few fun sites that i’ve come across lately that i know you’ll enjoy.

Safety First!

March 10, 2007

i came across this site just now… very funny!! It’s a parody site, ripping off a homeland security site against terrorism… It shows different warning signs that are used to teach people what to do in an emergency, only this site has added a humorous touch to it. Here’s just an example, but you’ll want to check them all out!!!

Pandora

March 9, 2007

I discovered ‘Pandora’ today after hearing about it on ‘net @ nite’ with Leo Laporte. Must say that it’s pretty incredible! What you do is type in an artist or a song and Pandora will create your own personalized radio station based on your musical tastes. So far, after typing in ‘Dave Matthews’, each song that followed actually fit right into what i’d consider my ‘musical taste’. Give it a go and tell me what you think…

Famous Quotes – New Year’s Eve

The proper behavior all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year’s Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you’re married to.

your favourite album’s of all time.

Survey

So here’s the deal. Although it may seem a little trivial to some, i’ve always liked knowing what people’s favourite album’s and movies and other stuff are. I know that we all have at one time or another, if only in our minds, come up with lists of what we consider to be our all time favourite album’s and movies… Maybe it’s just me, and maybe it’s even weird of me to do so, but i actually enjoy taking the time to think back on all the cd’s i’ve listened to or movies i’ve watched, and boil them down to a list of about 25, and put them in order from least to most favourite. On this occasion i thought i’d do a top album’s of all time list, but why stop at just my list… i’m sure all of you are just dying to have your favourite album’s of all time published on the web. Seriously though, it intrigues me to know what album’s and musical styles have most influenced or even just entertained you in the past, or maybe are doing so now…
I based my list on 3 Factors:
1) Album’s i can listen to over and over again and never get sick of.
2) Album’s that were significant at a certain moment of time or phase.
3) Album’s which have been most influential musically.

For those of you who are going to participate (and i’d love for all of you to) just add your list as a “comment” down where it says “leave a reply”. And make sure to add your name to it so i know who you are… So finally, after all my mindless ramblings, here’s my list:

25. The Essential Dave Brubeck – Dave Brubeck
24. Blind Melon – Blind Melon
23. Singles Soundtrack – Various Artists
22. The Ultimate Experience – Jimi Hendrix
21. Garden State Soundtrack – Various Artists
20. The Beautiful Letdown – Switchfoot
19. Parachutes / Rush of Blood to the Head – Coldplay
18. Recurring Dream: The Very Best Of Crowded House – Crowded House
17. Siamese Dream – Smashing Pumpkins
16. Bryter Layter – Nick Drake
15. Speak for Yourself – Imogen Heap
14. Thriller / Off The Wall – Michael jackson
13. The Joshua Tree / U218 Singles – U2
12. Hoopla – Speech (from Arrested Development)
11. Dummy – Portishead
10. Cooleyhighharmony – Boyz 2 Men
9. Vs / Ten – Pearl Jam
8. August and Everything After – Counting Crows
7. Tigerlily – Natalie Merchant
6. Blood Sugar Sex Magic – Red Hot Chilli Peppers
5. Jagged Little Pill – Alanis Morissette
4. Are you going to go my way – Lenny Kravitz
3. 3 Years 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life of / Zingalamaduni- Arrested Development
2. Under the Table and Dreaming – Dave Matthews Band
1. Crash – Dave Matthews Band

I cheated at some places adding 2 ablum’s as one entry… My list was of 25, but your’s doesn’t have to be that long, maybe make it just 10 that way it won’t take up too much of your time…

Hear form you soon!

the pony ride…

March 4, 2007

now get this… it’s sunday right, around midday. The family’s just sitting around not doing much, listening to a little josh groban, when the door bell rings. Who could it be? that’s right, who else but the guy who goes door to door offering pony ride’s! and in the words of Martin Garcia…”what a crack!” (official translation: “it was so funny!”)
So we obviously couldn’t help ourselves and paid the dude his 15 pesos to give toby a pony ride…
The events of the next 5 minutes have been documented in this video…

TGI Fridays…yum!

March 3, 2007

The 3 of us went into Buenos Aires last in celebration of my 27th birthday (It’a an hour drive). We had a great time! First, as Maru did some shopping i saw “the queen”. Then we went to a small indoor amusement park centre sort of place and spent some money there. Mostly on Toby, although he’s still a big ’scardy cat’. We put him on this one ride, some really small dodgem car’s, but 1 minute into the ride he started screaming that he wanted he get off.
After all this, we drove to ‘Puerto Madero’. Which would be our equivalent to say… circular quay. We had dinner at a place called TGI Firday’s (mind you it was 11:30pm by now, and there was a 15 minute wait to be seated, people eat late here!) I’d liken this place to say…”chillis” (for those in Sydney). I had the ‘Golden Fajitas’, Maru had the ‘Cajun Chicken Salad” and Toby had the “Chicken Fingers with Chips”. The last time i’d actually had this type of food was at “chillis”, so it was great to remember some old tastes.

I’ll post this pic’s this afternoon…
